National Council on Special Adult Education and Lifelong Learning (SAELL)

The College of Adaptive Arts invites you to set SAELL with us as we create a nationwide net of support for increased quality, equity, and availability of educational programs for adults of all differing abilities, without any limitations on years of age or participation. SAELL is creating maps for building and providing lifelong higher special education opportunities and developing important tools for those involved in related work and research.

  • Supporting and Expanding the CAA Mission

SAELL is committed to building personal connections, professional networking, and accessible information pathways toward providing special, lifelong, adult higher learning experiences nationally and globally.

  • History

On July, 2020 the West Valley Mission Community College District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to bring College of Adaptive Arts onto the beautiful campus of West Valley to be a Living Learning Lab/Leadership Training/Work Study program for its host campus students while allowing College of Adaptive Arts adult students to continue to learn and grow on an authentic college campus.

The vision is to show the world how this model can be replicated on any and every campus of higher learning across the world. College of Adaptive Arts strives to become as accessible and robust in education that the Special Olympics model so effectively provides through athletics.

CAA is also grateful to Swenson Development, who has been a staunch supporter of CAA and the development of our flagship campus site at West Valley College
