Dr. Pamela Lindsay (EdD/CI) has a passion for supporting students and families through development of new curriculum, instruction, administration, and community-based and collaborative programs at CAA. A long history of work with families of neurodivergent learners, and experience with her own family member with IDD, inspires her ongoing development of historic and individualized curricula and revolutionary programs offering previously marginalized adults with equitable and lifelong collegiate engagement, optimal learning opportunities, and continual motivation toward personal success goals.
Examples of awards and commendations include multiple recognitions from the State of California Senate and Assembly; AARP Purpose Prize honors received at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC; Lifetime Achievement Award from the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Women’s Summit; Service Above Self Award from the San Andreas Regional Center; Leadership Impact/John Sperling Achievement Award from the University of Phoenix Bay Area; CACSE Special Education Recognition Award; Lifelong Learning award from the Silicon Valley Down Syndrome Network; Contributions to the Profession award from Delta Kappa Gamma International Society of Key Women Educators; featured in news segments, social media, video casts and podcasts, publications such as Bay Area Women magazine, and research publication in the International Journal of Special Education.
Dr. Lindsay’s research work, including national and international dissemination of study, includes innovative and lifelong higher education program strategies for adults with IDD. She shares her expertise through actions such as service on an annual panel at Stanford University in the Department of Human Biology’s class on autism, in liaison roles with the Association for Higher Education and Disability and the American Association for Intellectual and Developmental Disability, and through national and international conference presentations.
Other professional experience includes work in the performing arts, academia, family educational advising and corporate work in the medical and high tech fields. Other degrees include a B.A., and M.A. from the Department of Television, Radio, Film and Theatre at San Jose State University where she served as a Graduate Instructor, Lecturer, and Director. She is an invited alumnus of the Royal National Theatre Summer Programme (London, UK) and a veteran of professional theatre, dance, film, television, and music work within the United States, Europe, and Japan.
